Regis - SOLD (8/08)

Regis is the most adorable pony ever!! He is young at 5, but packs my 6 yr old daughter around like he's 20! She has learned so much about riding on Regis. He is Amish broke to ride and drive and was used as an Amish child's driving pony to get them back and forth to school everyday (see "our Amish friends" page). He knows what it means to work and you can tell he appreciates "the good life" - light riding and driving, plenty of turnout, grooming, hugs, kisses and adoration from all the young neighbor kids. He is steady and dependable out on the trail - not a total deadhead, but not much bothers him. He will walk, trot and canter for my young daughter (on a loose rein with her flopping around), but because he hasn't had much "professional schooling" undersaddle, I'd consider him "green broke" to ride still. Never anything bad, just not advanced in his training. He has incredible potential as a hunter pony - look at him free jump a 3 ft oxer! A cute mover with the best, lovable personality!!

Tanque - SOLD (7/08)

Tank is a 17 hand, 6 year old, Spotted Draft gelding. He has had extensive ground work over the last several years, but was not started under saddle until last year. He is coming along nicely and I am thrilled at his progress. He is great out on the trail - very brave and easy going. He is actually a nice moving horse for his size and I am interested to see how he jumps (I'll keep you posted). He has a nice walk, trot, canter currently, but is still working on leads, leg yielding, flexing and bending. I consider him green broke at this time and even a little on the lazy side, He has great potential to go in many directions .Tank is good with his feet, clips, ties, loads and loves baths. A sweet natured horse that likes to be with people. He is an impressive horse with presence and will make a wonderful partner.

Blue Rayon - SOLD 7/08

Okay, I normally only bring back drafts and crosses, but I occasionally find another I can't resist. Rayon is one of those. She is the sweetest mare, well broke and safe enough for me to put my 6 yr old on to walk, trot and canter by herself and the fact that she is so pretty is just icing! After seeing how gentle and easy she was for my daughter to ride, I decided to see if I could ride her bareback in just a halter - piece of cake. So then we tried a haystring. This mare is amazing - easy to ride even with only a string around her neck. She has good ground manners and can be groomed and tacked up by beginners, but she is a little apprehensive with baths still (I'm sure that will change as it gets hotter). She has a great neck rein, picks the the smoothest canter easily and is good out on the trail (although she walks out very fast)! A great horse for a younger rider or more timid lady.

Lady (Muley Girl) - SOLD 7/08

Lady is a 5 yr old, 16 hand leggy molly mule. She is broke to ride and is a great trail mount. She has super smooth gaits and goes english, western or bareback equally well. She is good with her feet, clips, ties, bathes and loads. I think she'd make a nice english mule - look at her jumping pictures! She tries hard for her rider, will go out with other horses or out by herself. She is not barn sour and has no vices. She is a mule; however, and although a beginner can ride her, I'd recommend her for an experienced horseperson (or mule person) as she depends on her handler for confidence.

Triumph (aka Skeeter) - SOLD (5/08) Congratulations Joe and family, Dripping Spring, Texas!!

Here's another "something different" for me to bring back. This beautiful colt was bred by Early Dawn Sport Horses in Canada. He is out of a Percheron cross mare and a registered paint stallion. The result is a nice moving colt with eye catching color, a sweet gentle personality with impressive feet and bone and good size. What more can you ask for? He is registered with the Performance Horse Registry in KY (#5015118). He is a wonderful prospect for either english or western sport. Skeeter is super easy to work with - in just a couple days he was tying, loading, picking up his feet and bathing (his favorite!).

Fergussen - SOLD (5/08) Congratulations Bryan, Norco, CA!!

Fergussen is a 4 yr old Percheron gelding that is broke to ride and drive. He is a big puppy dog with a gentle temperment, but don't let those big soft eyes full you too much, he is athletic as he is sweet! I can picture him turning heads as a draft dressage mount. He has lovely, big, floaty, uphill movement with presence! We have mainly been driving him and trail riding him, but have started more serious undersaddle training recently. I apologize I don't have better undersaddle pictures (they are coming soon) - please forgive the unprofessional bareback pictures, but I wanted to at least get him up on the site and show him at a walk, trot and canter. Rex - SOLD (5/08) Congratulations Maria, Laguna Hills, California!!

The name should say it all! - bold, sturdy, handsome and dependable! That's our Rex! He is a registered Belgian gelding (of smaller stature) with plenty of chrome and flash. He is broke to ride and drive (single and double) and is excellent out on the trail. He would be a perfect dude string horse, family horse, "husband horse", police mount or easy pleasure riding and/or driving. I would have classified him as suitable for a total beginner if it weren't for his size. He is a big, strong horse that although gentle, can still "get up and go" if you ask him to. He has great ground manners, ties, loads, clips, stands for farrier - does everything you'd expect a good horse to do.

Yes, he's tall and skinny - thus the name. But with dental work, good feed and exercise, he's gaining weight nicely. This is one of the sweetest horses we've had. He is very affectionate and will follow you around while you clean his stall, bugging you to scratch him with the rake! Ichabod is broke to ride and drive and has good ground manners. He is good with his feet, standing for the farrier (no stocks needed), he clips (but prefers you to start slowly at first), ties, loads and trailers. He stands perfectly still for harnessing, hitching, saddling, etc. Ichabod is the kind of horse you can bond with strongly and once he trusts you, you have his heart and he will try his hardest for you. He is a timid horse - not "spooky" but will look to his rider or driver for confidence. If you are looking for a partner to go trail riding with friends or a horse you can drive around the neighborhood with, then here's your boy!

Rodney is a 5 yr old, 17 hand, Belgian/Quarter Horse Cross gelding. He is broke to drive single and double and well broke to ride. We ride him english, western, bareback, double, triple, backwards...he doesn't care! I used him alot this past christmas to take our family and friends out on drives with our wagonette. He is a nice big mover with potential for dressage, lower level eventing, english or western pleasure. He is great out on the trail (see the short video clips), not a deadhead, but not spooky either. We have been working on his arena work and he is coming along nicely - starting to bend and flex, moves well off leg and is consistent with his leads. Mina is a black, 3 1/2 yr old, 17 hand, Percheron/Standardbred Cross Mare that is broke to ride and drive. Cheyenne is a uniquely colored sport horse prospect. She is a 4 year old, Clydesdale Appaloosa cross mare. She has had plenty of time to grow up just hanging out in the pasture with her friends. Black Opal - SOLD

Opal is a black, 14.2 hand, 12 year old Tennessee Walker Mare. She is spry and sweet, gentle and loves people and attention. I bought her from an Amish man who had raised a few babies from her and she was underweight and lacking muscle tone. She has since put on some good weight and we are working on building her strength back up. She has a stepping pace that is comfortable and easy to maintain, she's good on the trail - will lead or follow and is equally good in the arena. A sweet little mare that would be a good mount for an older, lady rider that would appreciate a smooth ride and gentle horse. She could also be a nice backyard, family horse. Skittles is a 4 yr old, 14.2 hand Percheron/Paint Draft Cross Pony. He is cute as a bug and gentle as a dog. Stout enough to carry a large man but easy enough for a child to ride - does it get any better? He rides and drives, very broke for both. I drove him alot over Christmas and guests rode him out on the trail. He is beginner safe and fun for anyone. A great whole family horse, lesson horse, pony club mount, trail horse, ??? Mateo - SOLD Congratulations to T.R.O.T. Theraputic Riding Program of Tucson!

Mateo is a 16 hand (current height), 4 1/2 yr old Percheron/Paint Cross gelding that is broke to ride and drive. This guy is as gentle as they come - no spook, very willing and very laid back. He's never in a hurry so he'd be great for those that like to "take it easy" on the trail. He will go if you ask him to, but if you want to go fast, you'll really have to ask!! He is currently my husband's favorite trail horse. Great feet and bone - sound and sane - no vices - ties, clips, loads, the works. Very sweet natured, loves people. I say he's beginner safe for trail enthusiasts, but still needs a little "fine tuning" in the arena. Double Take SOLD

Dubs is a 4 year old, 17 hh Percheron/Paint cross tobiano gelding. He is big and sweet! Great short back, major bone and hoof and ready to get started on a "job". We have started him under saddle recently and are getting him accustomed to the normal "horsey" things a good riding horse puts up with (clipping, bathing, loading, etc.). He is learning quickly and has a great willing attitude and work ethic. Because of his size, age and inexperience I suggest at least an intermediate rider at this stage in his training. Willow is a 6 yr old, 17 hh, black & white sabino colored Clydesdale Gelding with a beautiful dished face!
He is well broke to drive and has been a dream to ride out on the trail. This horse is amazing! So much personality and a blast to ride. He is not spooky at all, but has a motor and can definitely move! I would love to see him do dressage, but we ride him everyway but upside down - english, western, bareback, driving (single or team). Here's a great prospect for any sport! Nash is a 3 year old Percheron/Paint cross gelding. He stands around 16 hands currently and still has a few years of growing to do. He is started in harness double and drives with Paige (see below). He has been started under saddle and is showing himself to be patient, thoughtful and complient. I really like this horse and see a ton of potential. He has a great flat kneed trot and good movement. I'll keep his info updated as we continue with his training.

Here's the other adorable "regular horse" I found, but there's nothing "regular about him! Pogo is a 5 years old, 15 hh, registered Paint gelding. He has been used for ranch work and is one handy guy. I think he's going to be a great english mount, but my friends already been roping off him. He is fun and brave out on the trail and has a great comfortable lope. He neck reins and direct reins, ties, loads, is great with his feet and has good general ground manners. A good looking, versatile all around horse. Suitable for a novice or better rider.

Paige is Nash's half sister - a Percheron/Paint mare of 3 years and matched to drive with him. She is a total sweetheart and very easy to work with. Top Notch SOLD

"Notch" is a 16.3 hh, 4 1/2 year old, Amish broke Percheron Gelding. He is broke well to drive and has been started under saddle. He loves to trail ride and is extremely brave. He is happy as a clam to walk out and lead the trail and does have a nice little sitting trot but will canter, too when encouraged to do so (takes a bit of leg though!). He is young and still a bit green, but has a great mind and gentle personality. Notch will be a beginner's horse, but because of his size and the fact that we haven't had him in training here very long I would suggest at least a novice at this point in his training

Rose is a 4 year old, registered North American Spotted Draft mare. She stands about 16.3 hh currently and still growing. She is very laid back and gentle. Broke great to drive (single or double) and ride (any tack *englsih, western* or none). She's a bit thicker that her counterpart (Pearl) but equally athletic. Started under saddle with a nice walk, trot and canter - great out on the trail (lead or follow). She is a beautiful mare with a wonerdul personality. Morning Son's Flight SOLD

Sonny is the other registered Missouri Fox Trotter we found. He is very well broke, great out on the trail, smooth gaited and absolutely gentle. He is 11 yrs old, a stout 15.2 hhs and has very old, classic breeding (see registration papers). I am not a "gaited horse" person, but I know good horses when I see them and this is a good horse! My son (who rarely rides) thinks he's wonderful and my husband likes him too. This is what I commonly refer to as a "husband horse". He is easy to be around, tack up, ride, bathe, etc. A good confidence builder and pleasure horse. Suitable for a beginner (or better) rider.

Here we go! This is what people visit my site for - gorgeous draft crosses!! And Salvador doesn't disappoint! He is a 6 yr old, 16.1 hh Clydesdale Cross gelding. He took my breath away with his presence and personality and was one of those "gotta have him" types. His story is typical of what First Draft Farms does - he is Amish broke to drive (single) and we are getting him started riding. Look!! Another (non) draft cross!!?? Redhawk is a 13 yr old, 15.2 hh, registered Missouri Fox Trotter. Some of my friends are starting to wonder about me now. Ha Ha. My husband had so much fun with Diego (see him under SOLD horses) who was partially gaited, we decided to try a couple more "gaited types". This guy is well broke, smooth to ride and very handsome. Charley is a beautiful 5 yr old, Morgan/Percheron cross mare right around 16.1 hh and stocky. She is broke well to ride (walk, trot, canter) and I suspect she drives too; however, I haven't hitched her up yet. She is very good out on the trail and I haven't seen her spook at anything as of yet. She's been around kids, bikes, quads, dogs and cattle. We have ridden her english and western and she goes equally well in both types of tack.We are working on getting her to round and soften at the poll. She would make a nice heavier dressage prospect. Diego SOLD

Diego is a gorgeous 9 yr old, Tennessee Walker/Draft Cross X gelding. He is a great riding size at about 15.2 hh and broke to death. My husband has claimed him for himself (until he finds his new owner that is). He is partially gaited and smooth as glass to ride, but he does have a real trot as well. He is safe for any level rider - beginner to advanced. A real gentleman - wonderful ground manners, clips, loads, ties anywhere (and to anything), good with his feet and good with other horses. He rides english, western (nice neck rein, too), bareback, single or double (heck, he'd probably go triple or more if his back were longer!). Very nice conformation and athletic. He is the best that I have out on the trail. He packs the kids and beginner guest riders around and is fun for my more experienced friends and husband too! I can't say enough about this horse - he is a doll and cherished by our family. If you like him, hurry up and come try him before we decide to keep him!

I am starting to really appreciate a good gaited horse and this one will not disappoint anyone! He is super broke and would be great for anyone from beginner to advanced. He neck reins (though we've been riding him english and bareback, too) and is virtually spook proof. Cysco SOLD - Congratulations Susan Novotny of Wunderlich Farms in Virginia!

This is my absolute favorite horse at the barn. He is a 5 yr old, Percheron/QH cross, 16.1 hh with my "weakness color" - buckskin! He is an absolute athlete, quick and powerful and a perfectionist. Tons of potential! Addison is an 8-9 yr old classy Percheron/Thoroughbred Cross mare, 16.3+ hh. This is definitely one of the nicer horses I have offered for sale.
